The ARGE 2 Rad and their authorized members are a non-profit organization in Austria. The association has 12 members which represents 95 % of the market volume. The aim of the organisation is to increase the powered two wheeler awareness including its safety. The ARGE2Rad is member of the ACEM (the Motorcycle Industry in Europe) the European manufacturers association.

 

·         Driving training

In order to increase traffic safety for two wheeler, various safety activities from research up to practical trainings will be organized together with partners like the Ministry of traffic, Austrian driving school associations for the Austrian clubs ÖAMTC (Österreichischer Automobil-, Motorrad- und Touring Club) and ARBÖ (Auto-, Motor- und Radfahrerbund Österreichs).

 

·         Moped in Town

Among our safety activities we proceed "moped in town" which is traffic safety education for novice moped (50cc) users, to drive in group through real town traffic, accompanied by police on motorcycles. The police officers also provide feedback about their traffic behaviour after the course.

 

·         Ride to Work

Other activities are the "ride to work" promotion where 2 wheel drivers will gain special visibility on their daily travel to their work. Special visibility means that the drivers will have neon yellow reflexive vests over the ordinary clothes.

 

·         125cc B equivalent

The action "125" - special support and training is given to car license holders in a acquiring the 125cc license. In Austria with 6 hours of training you can use the 125cc motorcycle or scooter with B license. We will provide the driver with additional trainings for 4 more hours.
