A safety initiative entitled “Light Up” will take place nationally on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st February 2013. Its aim is to address the significant issue of defective, broken, missing or inappropriate use of vehicle lighting. Garda members will specifically target and intercept drivers who have defective lighting, or are using them inappropriately, on their vehicles.
The Why Factor Challenge is a teacher based resource focusing on road safety challenges that children aged 7 to 9 may face.
The SOL – Save Our Lives road safety forum was held in drivingcamp Hungary Zsámbék on 25th January 2013. The forum focused on Local Road Safety Strategies and Programs. Among international and Hungarian road safety experts, Mr. Zoltán Schváb, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of National Development (HU) also attended the Forum. The organizers of the program not only focused on the strategies and decision support, but also made sure that international road safety experts were able to learn from Hungarian good practices as well.
