AXA are Ireland's leading motor insurer with 25% market share. It employs about 980 people and has 700,000 customers.

Following the evaluation of our first commitment and considering that our action plan has had a positive effect on Road safety, we renew our commitment to the European Road Safety Charter with the same activities for the next 3 years.

 

1.       Our commitment for the coming years (2010-2012) will focus on young people and subsequently young drivers, specifically through our 'AXA Roadsafe Roadshow' campaigns in Secondary Schools. Within the project, we will deliver 14 roadshows in the North of Ireland and at least six in the South of Ireland during the coming school term 2010/11 (about 500-1000 participants each time).

 

2.       We have also developed an on-line driving skills awareness initiative, the AXA On-line Driver Training Program. We have devised an interactive programme covering what we consider to be the most common causes of accidents: speeding, distractions, general awareness, motorway driving, aggressive driving and driver fatigue. 3.       We will also communicate directly with our customers through the AXA Newsletter, sent out at least twice yearly, and we undertake to use this media to communicate a road safety message in every issue.
