The Traffic Accidents Prevention Association P(A)T is located in Barcelona. It works for having safer surroundings for drivers as well as pedestrians and bikers. PAT also help victims and other affected by traffic accidents.

Our association has a number of proposals to contribute to improving road safety:

• Interviews and the dissemination of messages through the media:
  To make this proposal possible, we will take part in radio and television information and discussion programmes on a number of channels including: TV Española, Tele 5, TV3, Canal 33, Canal 50 Vallès, Canal BCN and Canal Sur. We plan to make a total of 150 to 200 television and radio appearances annually. We will have a weekly programme on two radio stations.

• Assisting and advising victims by means of lawyers and psychologists:
  The P(A)T association has two centres, one in Barcelona and the other in Alicante. Each centre has a lawyer, whose job is to guide victims through legal procedures, and a psychologist, who can give moral support to these victims. The number of victims varies; some four to five people are seen per month.

• Carrying out studies:
  We will carry out four to five studies per year and will write reports on accident rates that will be made public through the media (television, radio and press).

All of the members of the board are involved in these initiatives and we aim to reach the highest number of Spanish citizens possible, as well as the political sphere, through the various media.
