Selbstverpflichtung

In the frame of our activities, we inform road authorities about passive road safety on international roads and highways, giving lectures and seminars, with inside information of newest research and developing work (e.g. crash tests outcomes and results). We want to build awareness of the responsibility and the importance of road planning and the right installation of passive safety systems on road sides. Thanks to a broad network to associations and companies regarding road traffic, road active and passive safety all around the world, we are planning to take part in information days and seminars, presenting topics of passive road safety.

In addition to this, we commit to the European Road Safety Charter for the coming three years with the following actions:
Action 1)
We have been supporting the "Make Roads Safe" campaign, which is internationally taking urgent action to stop the daily tragedy of thousands of preventable deaths and injuries on the world's roads. We will highlight news and proceedings of the campaign on our website and inform about new events and outcomes of our common research work.

Action 2)
Furthermore, we are supporting and sponsoring the "MEHRSi - Sicherheit für Biker" association, which is an association fostering the importance of motorcyclist safety systems on German roads. Research and development in the area of passive motorcyclist protection has been growing in the last decade, whilst the amount of deaths of motorcyclists has risen. There are a lot of ways to protect bikers and motorcyclists from the danger they are facing on highways and national roads with passive safety systems. We work closely together with this association to inform road authorities of the importance of installing such systems, where needed to protect motorcyclist the best way possible.

Action 3)
We create an informative road safety section on our website www.passco.de and on our social media accounts (Facebook, Linkedin, etc.) to inform about proceedings, norms and standards of passive road safety in Europe and on international level.

Action 4)
Our aim for next year is to support the European Commission and work together with DG's to rise the importance of the correct implementation of the European Norm for passive safety Vehicle Restraint Systems, EN 1317:1-8, in accordance with CE marking (CPD 89/106/EEC). This Directive sets the conformity, performance and quality regulations for Vehicle Restraint System of the European Union. Together with the European Union Road Federation, we have created a Task Force of CE marking, to support road authorities of European Member States to implement and use the European Norm correctly and prevent incorrect use of CE mark. We plan to regularly visit representitives of national road ministery and road authorities to describe and show the importance and the responsibility of correct planning, according to current harmonised norms.

Action 5)
Once a year we launch a meeting and invite people interested in road safety, customers, friends and partners from all over the world to discuss and exchange opinions and news about passive road safety. We invite to a dinner and inform and discuss in informal way. This event is announced in time on our website.
