THE DANGERS OF THE SEA-FIRST AID

The additional education programs for children in primary schools, in recognizing and dealing with the serious risks involved daily around them, completed successfully for the current school year.

Superior officers of the HellenicCoastGuard implemented the program:

Ø The dangers of the sea. Conditions and prerequisites for safe swimming, third party drowning risk, boats-motor boats, life jackets, sea games, exhaustion / cramp.

Volunteer nurse/rescue team implemented the program:

Ø Fisrt aid. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures -for higher school classes- Cleaning/Disinfecting/Further actions when dealing with superficial injuries for lower school classes.

The programs implemented during the school visits in the traffic education park in Nea Makri, alongside to their road safety program, throughout the weeks 28/5/2012 – 1/6/2012 (Coast Guard) and 5/6/2012 – 8/6/2012 (First aid).

They constitute the continuation of the recently performed programs of the Fire Department (The fire risks) and the Hellenic Police (The dangers around us).

Due to their proven serious value added to the students, it is strongly possible to be repeated during the upcoming school year and probably accompanied with new relevant programs to be materialized by equally prestigious and reliable bodies.
