EFTHITA, over the next three years EFTHITA will continue to do the following:
- Organize seminars, inviting leading experts on road safety.
- On daily basis ensure that EFTHITA posters or road safety messages are displayed in main traffic hubs (e.g. Airport, port) and local newspapers.
- Produce short advertisements at local broadcasting media (both TV and radio)
- Produce a two-hour educational program on road safety issues that was broadcasted by the national radio station of Rhodes in four parts.
- Continue the annual arts competition for primary education students. Their work was used in EFTHITA’s 2009 and 2010 annual calendars (funded by local banks).
- Participate in every European and World Day of remembrance for road traffic victims
- Continue the “Love Christmas Tree”, revenues from which go to the families of road victims.
- Operate an open telephone line for the psychological counseling of victims.
- Continue the annual distribution of Easter Eggs, combining the traditional egg-breaking with the concept of life fragility when it comes to road accidents.
- Distribute 30 helmets to motorcycle drivers, promoting safe driving behavior.
- Produce 200,000 prospectuses about road safety in Greek and English language.
- Print 1,500 copies of the Ministry of Education book “Singing and Driving”.
- Interact successfully with primary education institutions, distributing to teachers and students books about safe driving.
- Continue the “Christoforeia”, a two-day annual event about road safety. During this event, EFTHITA presents documentaries, organizes photograph exhibitions and student competitions.
- Set up parental guidance seminars and meetings that involved the local youth.
- Cooperate with local authorities on road safety and infrastructure issues.
-Support the World Initiative of significantly reducing road accidents by 2020.
EFTHITA will also:
- Fully engage with the local authorities and other governmental authorities in order to improve road infrastructure and enhance road safety.
- Further increase of public awareness and collaboration.
