A public administration body. Cotronei Municipality is in the province of Crotone and has some 5,500 inhabitants.

By signing the European Road Safety Charter, Cotronei Municipality has undertaken to carry out the following over the next three years:

1. Provide road education courses focusing on schoolchildren in particular. Together with the municipal police force and teachers, 259 pupils from primary and secondary schools will be encouraged to participate in the initiative: the road education course will take place over three months every school year, and will be taught in three primary fifth-form classes, three middle school second-form and third-form classes, and three fourth-form and two fifth-form secondary school classes. In all, 144 hours will be devoted to road education every year.


2. Convey road safety awareness messages, creating a suitable banner on the website. In addition, every year, approximately 3,000 flyers featuring a decalogue of road education rules will be distributed. This initiative will target all citizens.
