UIRR - International Union of Combined Rail-Road transport companies
Belgium | Association
The UIRR (International union of combined rail-road transport companies) brings together combined rail-road transport companies. Its main mission involves the promotion of this form of transport. The UIRR is currently made up of 19 members in 14 countries, and thus represents more than 70% of the total volume transported through this means in Europe.
Compromiso
In order to limit the traffic, pollution and accident problems that are increasingly characteristic of road transport, we will continue to contribute to the improved management of road traffic, namely, the reduction of road traffic. With this in mind, we will continue to promote and organise the transfer of goods transport from road to rail, in order to respond to transport market expectations as well as European policy. The objective is to double combined transport between now and 2015.
Our members work in collaboration with professional transport institutions and companies. In order to promote preventative actions among these partners, we will remind them with regularity, through internal communication channels, of our common commitment and see to it to illustrate its meaning with achievements reached by other signatories of the Charter.
