The Technical Chamber of Cyprus, a public benefit organization, regulates the Engineering Profession in Cyprus. The Chamber's scope is the promotion of Science in the different fields related to the disciplines of its members in Engineering and Technology in general, and their progress for an independent economic, social and cultural development of the Republic of Cyprus.

To deliberately take the initiative of implementing measures going beyond the existing road safety actions, always working in cooperation with all other involved bodies for road safety improvement in Cyprus. Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK) will continue its contribution to the Road Safety Council of Cyprus, in line with the 1st Strategic Plan on Road Safety in Cyprus (prepared for 2002 - 06).

 

ETEK will enhance research activities with the participation of Cypriot engineers and scientists in European research programs, activities and knowledge in order to introduce state-of-the-art methodologies to the local road safety environment.

 

ETEK participates in SARTRE 4 (Social Attitudes to Road Traffic Risk in Europe) and the results of the project will be disseminated to policy makers in Cyprus and to all of ETEK 9000 members. ETEK has previously participated in other road safety EU research projects like and the results of these projects were presented and discussed with all road safety stakeholders and policy makers in Cyprus through publications, seminars and specialised meetings.
