National Road Safety Council - Krajowa Rada Bezpieczeństwa Ruchu Drogowego - KRBRD

The National Road Safety Council (PL: Krajowa Rada Bezpieczeństwa Ruchu Drogowego - KRBRD) was established on 1st January, 2002; under the Law about Road Traffic; as an auxiliary inter-department body of the Polish Council of Ministers for road safety issues. Members of KRBRD are appointed by the Prime Minister and include the representatives of various ministries and Road Safety related institutions

 

 

Compromiso

The National Road Safety Council will for the next three years:

• Popularize the RS (Road Safety)idea among participants in the community life on all its organizational levels – through information, promotion and education; and


• Raise the awareness and shape the cultural attitudes of road traffic participants who should respect the law as well as the rights of other road users – by effective promotion of good customs; and


• Increase the effectiveness of the measures aimed at RS improvement in Poland; and


• Integrate various structures of local governments and NGOs in order to enable their cooperation aimed at RS improvement.

To accomplish this and as part of its duties the council will undertake the following:


Ø Recommendations for the national policies within the scope of RS improvement; and
Ø Development of RS improvement action programs; and
Ø Commissioning of scientific research; and
Ø Legislative initiative and opining on RS-related legal acts; and
Ø Initiative within the framework of foreign cooperation and educational and informational activities; and
Ø Cooperation with social organizations and with NGOs; and
Ø Analysis and evaluation of the undertaken measures.

The Target Groups are:
drivers;
passengers;
motorcyclists;
pedestrians;
children;
cyclists.
