About Us

The portal combines online and offline activities, and is open to anyone who wishes to actively participate in road safety issues. This platform enables users to suggest ideas, meet peers and share information on improving road safety visibility on a European level. Users are also welcome to participate in onsite blogs and communities in action.
The Signatories section presents a complete list of all signatories and links to their designated signatory profiles, plus dynamic entry pages to the 4 Special Interest Groups. Highlighted shortlists promote new and existing signatories and filter options enable users to browse signatories by name, country, date and entity or commitment type. The Signatory Profile page is opened when an entity signs the Charter and includes entity details and a copy of their commitment text. Users approved by the signatory can contribute to this page by posting updated information on the entity’s road safety activities and progress through blogs and multimedia galleries.
The In focus section enables users to keep up to date on Charter activity and incorporates relevant news and announcements concerning the Charter, published by the Charter Project Staff. This section also introduces and welcomes new signatories and highlights current Charter events and progress. Users can also subscribe to the Charter Newsletter and review archive newsletters here.
The Charter in Action section presents all ongoing activity undertaken by the project and enables users and signatories to view and share ideas on road safety. It details the project’s daily activities, special initiatives, actions and events, and contains a directory and profiles of the global charter community. Portal users and signatories are welcome to participate, interact and exchange experiences.
The Resources section presents relevant documents, reports and resources related to Charter activity and road safety in general. The public are welcome to browse this section, which includes a library of documents and general road safety links, a media centre and best practice reports on exceptional signatories and actions. Evaluation tools and Charter promotional material are also included within this section, and users are welcome to comment on and rate all featured resources.
