Group of associations of leisure businesses in the Autonomous Community of Catalonia. It currently has 50 member associations, including over 700 leisure businesses (bars, nightclubs and discotheques). The group seeks to defend the interests of employers in the sector and their reputation, developing awareness, social behaviour and safety campaigns through its member associations. The federation employs four members of staff.
Engagement
Over the next five years, we will organise road safety awareness campaigns, targeting those who frequent bars and nightclubs in the Autonomous Community of Catalonia, in order to convey the message that it is dangerous to drink and drive.
We will organise and/or cooperate in the organisation of at least five campaigns a year, involving public authorities, users, neighbourhood associations and entrepreneurs in order to reach some 2,000,000 people over the next five years through the various campaigns organised by our 50 member associations, which represent over 100 municipalities in Catalonia.
For the next campaign, to be launched on 14 July 2008, two night bus routes will be established to link the municipality of Gerona with various towns in the province. These bus routes will operate continuously throughout the night. In order to promote use of the bus routes, the bars and nightclubs in those towns that feature on the bus route will reward those who show their bus tickets with non-alcoholic drinks and bar or nightclub admission discounts.
To publicise the campaign, 500 posters and 100,000 leaflets featuring the BUSNIT timetables will be produced.
