Automobilklub Polski
Poland | Association
The Polish Automobile Club operates in the Mazovia region, particularly in the city of Warsaw. Its principal activity is to promote the knowledge of motorcycling, tourism for people using motorised vehicles, motor sports and road safety. It was established in 1909 and has 200 members.
Engagement
In order to contribute to reducing the number of accidents by increasing children’s and adolescents’ awareness of road traffic safety, the Polish Automobile Club undertakes during the next three years (2006 - 2009) to carry out the following actions:
- We will organise a road safety competition twice a year for children and adolescents from Warsaw and the Mazovia region. The events will take place in May/June and we expect about 12 schools to participate in each event.
Collaborators involved: PZM (The Polish Automobile & Motorcycle Federation) - We will organise bicycle training and driving training three times a year for children in the Bemowo district. We will support the action by distributing a book entitled “Young Cyclist Code”, helmets and reflective material. We expect between 50 and 250 children to attend each training session, and the same amount of material will be prepared.
