Active Zone Network S.A. is a company dedicated to promoting cycling in Greece. The company has 20 delegations, 2 physical shops and a cycling community (Forum) numbering 10000 members. Active Zone was established in 2004 by a team of professionals who just love to be active outdoors. Main activities are mountain biking, road bike cruising and jogging.

Action Zone S.A. commits to the European Road Safety Charter through its own actions as well as through its forum´s (www.cyclist.gr) actions. Our commitment will be of a total of 3 years with the possibility of renewing later on.

 

As Action Zone S.A. the company will organize events in providing cycling education. These events will be hosted by   members of the company´s cycling team. Events will be arranged periodically and customers of the company will be invited to attend. Issues such as wearing a bicycle helmet, using cycle lanes where available and using reflective accessories at night will be highly emphasized upon.

 

The forum www.cyclist.gr will:

 

1. Create a section on the site related to cycling safety. This section will detail issues about children and cycling, how to purchase a reliable and safe bicycle, how to ride safely and how to maintain the bicycle so that it remains in a perfect and safe working condition.

 

2. Create a section where users can blog and comment on road safety related issues. The aim of this section will be to encourage open discussion and thus raise awareness around these issues. Members will be able to warn and inform each other about potential hazards around their area as well as about new legislation regarding bicycle users of the public road infrastructure.
