Verona Provincial Police (Polizia Provinciale di Verona)
Engagement
The Provincial Police of Verona will for the coming years (2012, 2013, and 2014) carry out a series of actions in schools and / or meeting places of young people to help reduce the risk of road accidents.
The goal is to raise awareness on road safety through meetings with road users beginning from a school age, between 6 and 19 years of age. This will be organized to focus on compliance and on the proper behavior and use of vehicles.
The meetings will be organized in collaboration with the Directorate of schools and other institutions such as the local police and emergency health care.
The Police will also organize thematical meetings targeted at different age groups. Presentation slides and films will be screened in order to provoke reflections and comparisons to analyze the problem and road safety with students.
We are confident that the meetings will be of high interest to the students as they will include presenters who have experienced a road accident and can realistically explain and transmit the message of responsible behavior on the roads.
We will carry out five meetings per year in schools or other places in which young people frequently attend. We will be targeting approximately 250/300 young people every year.
