14/12/2011 Budapest, Hungary: 45 foundation members established the Transport Safety Department of Hungarian Scientific Association for Transport. Dr. Janos Toth (General Secretary) said that the establishment of the Transport Safety Department is a milestone in the life of the asscotiation. Altogether 102 experts were interested in the birth of the new department. 

Jozsef Biro (Deputy General Secretary) introduced the main goals of the department. The new department is the assign of the Transport Safety Standing Committee (operated with 15 members). In 2009 the committee joined to the European Road Safety Charter. 

After the introduction the foundation members elected the executive officers: Jozsef Biro (Chairman), Tamas Berta (Co-chairman), Jozsef Oberling (Co-chairman), Tibor Toth (Secretary).
