The urban community of Lyon is made up by 55 communities and has a spand of 50 000 hectares. It has a around 5 millions inhabitants.

Overall objective: to reduce by one third over a three-year period the number of pedestrians injured in the city of Lyon.

Through:

• The installation of 30 km/h zones over more than 50% of the area of three districts in Lyon (the first, second and fourth districts) out of nine in total.
• The construction of three crossings between the “gentle mode” flows and automobiles around the Place Bellecour, which is right in the centre of Lyon (second district).
