Our actions:

• To set up a Corporate Social Responsibility department.
Through this department all our road safety training centres will be obliged to add a free 15-minute section to their courses which will disclose, among other things, the road safety Decalogue published by the Traffic Agency. This is an agency attached to our Ministry of Development, which controls all the material on road safety in our country. Besides the presentation of this Decalogue, our centres, all belonging to the National Confederation of Driving Schools, will also cover the latest European Union developments implemented in the field of Road Safety in member countries.

• To help disseminate, by means of our communications centre, in general and specialized media, the analyses and studies prepared by FESVIAL (The Spanish Foundation for Road Safety). Among the latest studies you will find “Traffic Signs Under Review” whose purpose is to get to know the opinion of drivers in relation to different aspects of Spanish road signs, as well as to determine their level of knowledge of traffic signs; and “Drivers and Eco- and Efficient Driving” aimed at getting to know the level of knowledge, awareness and desire of Spanish drivers to help improve the environment through driving.

• To participate in the United Nations ‘ “The Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011 -2020” which calls for the commitment of International bodies, civil organizations, companies and community leaders to step up and implement common road safety plans. Our centres are beginning to raise awareness among all students through a small module, taught free of charge in each of the courses, on the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding, promoting the use of helmets, seatbelts and child restraint systems, actions which are added to the objective of the Plan: “Saving Lives On Our Streets and Roads”.

• To highlight our continuous collaboration and discussions with the National Confederation of Driving Schools (NCDS) to which we suggest topics that, once considered and analyzed, are dealt with in its road safety training magazine, distributed to more than 5000 centres represented by the NCDS. The latest edition of the “Advice, Traffic and Road Safety Regulations” guide is taken into consideration by all our centres and incorporated into the content taught on Road Safety in over 460 training centres of the Instituto de Tráfico y Transporte (ITT).

• To offer course on “Non-Professional Driver Retraining”, aimed at updating the knowledge that many of them acquired prior to the changes undergone by the Spanish regulations on road safety, who are directly affected, since these are rules which at the time did not sanction conducts that they do now; “Knowledge of the Highway Code”, “Prohibition on Mobile Phone Use While Driving”. These courses will be marketed through the Transportation Departments of the Autonomous Communities and the town halls’ Social Affairs Departments. We believe that it is these institutions that should encourage the retraining of these drivers and provide it free of charge to citizens through the Road Safety Training centres in their area.

Many of our centres have a non-profit collaboration with the Town halls and other local institutions for teaching road safety awareness courses to the different social groups affected: adolescents, children, grown-ups etc.
