Did you know that using a seatbelt will significantly improve an occupant’s chance of surviving a potentially fatal crash?
Did you realize that if you don’t wear the seatbelt, you risk not only your life, but other’s too?
In order to train the staff regarding the importance of seatbelt use, OMV Petrom launched a new campaign that aims to inform its employees about the major risks they face if they forget to fasten seatbelts. The campaign intends to raise awareness among those who use Petrom vehicles (commuting busses, minibuses and company cars), to increase the number of employees who wear seatbelts and to minimize the employees’ injuries in case of an accident, along with the moral damages caused to their families, seriously affected by the death, injuries or disability of one of their members. The intention is that employees and their family members will always wear a seat belt, no matter who own the vehicle.
The campaign started in January, 2012, and will last until the end of the year. For this, stickers with motivational messages have been posted in the shuttles, while posters have been displayed in the company’ buildings and work points and will change every two months. The first of the series has an empty wheel chair and the following text: “There are vehicles that do not require a seatbelt. Choose”.
The OMV Petrom Executive Board is 100% supporting this campaign; in this respect, all employees received an Internal Newsletter referring to reinforcement of safety seat-belts rules for drivers and passengers.
Seat-belt use is mandatory for all employees, drivers or passengers using vehicles provided by OMV Petrom, including buses and the employees in breach of such obligation shall be subject to actions, as regulated by labor legislation and internal rules of OMV Petrom.
Specific operational departments will organize periodical surveys and unannounced inspections in the working points or where the commuting vehicles are been used in order to check if the present Romanian legal provisions in force and the internal reinforced regulations of OMV Petrom are respected.
