HSSE Hour in OMV Petrom - seat belt
Activity:

The first HSSE Hour event in Petrom

We are trying to bring HSSE closer to our employees and discuss topics that are of interest to everybody, both for work and private lives; therefore we have initiated the first HSSE Hour event in Petrom. The event was held on April 18th in Petrom City and nearly 200 employees attended the 1-hour interactive sessions which addressed the benefits of wearing the seatbelt and challenged misperceptions related to the use of seatbelts.
Mr. Titi Aur, the Romanian rally pilot, joined our initiative in raising awareness on such an important, life-saving topic. He interacted with employees, answered questions and gave many practical tips about the seatbelt and a preventive driving behavior in general.
Also, to demonstrate the tremendous importance of the seatbelt, we offered employees from Bucharest the opportunity to experience first-hand the benefits of wearing a seatbelt during a frontal impact, at the speed of 15 or 20 km/ hour. The brave-hearted could also test the roll-over device and learn how to safely get out of a car when hanged up in the seatbelt, rolled over at 90 degrees.
This action was made possible through a partnership with Titi Aur’s Defensive Driving School and was organized by Transportation Safety Experts, in line with the Petrom’s Commitment to the UN Road Safety Decade of Action. The mobile training center was available for full 3 days in Petrom City and will be installed in other in other 11 operational areas, starting next week.
What we have demonstrated in these 3 days is that all passengers of a vehicle must wear a seat belt.
