Cars parked on pavements are a common sight in Lisbon. In the historic district of the Castle - both a residential area and a place frequented by visitors (1 million last year) - the situation is no different. For the residents, the elderly, parents with children and push-chairs, the disabled, the tourists and anyone who chooses to walk, negotiating these inconsiderately parked cars is a daily challenge.
