The European Road Safety Charter Scoreboard contains statistical information on each Member State’s road safety progress between 2001 and 2006. It seeks to enable Member States to compare their situations and encourage them to continue their efforts regarding road safety.
The scoreboard reveals the number of lives saved per country in 2006 in comparison to 2001 and in relation to the European Commission’s targets for 2010 (as outlined in the 2001 White Paper) It also reveals the number of fatalities per population in 2006, the reduction of fatalities per country between 2001 and 2006, and the number of young people between the ages of 18 and 25 years killed in road accidents in each Member State.
