Over the next three years we will continue improving road safety situation on the Austrian roads with the following actions:

 

1.         We will continue organising driving safety courses and continued training on Accident Prevention for all bus drivers

 

In order to improve further the effective competence of drivers, particularly in situations of danger, 38 of our drivers will keep taking a specially designed safe driving course. Every bus driver will attend a 7-hour course yearly.

 

2.         Continued Training of Locomotive Drivers

 

Our 60 locomotive drivers are being constantly trained on operative, technical and safety-related issues in order to keep their knowledge up to date and prevent accidents. They will attend three four-hour workshops annually, dealing with rail and road safety.

 

3.         Use of Solar-Powered Warning Devices with Signal Lights

 

We will keep using our solar-powered warning mechanism with signal lights and direction lights, which makes crossing the tracks even safer. This initiative fosters the visibility of rail crossings for drivers.
