Spain | Enterprise

Prevensis - Sistemas de Prevención y Gestión de Riesgos, S.L., is a Madrid-based company, the aim of which is to offer the best solution possible in order to avoid accidents in public and private institutions, as well as on a personal level.

Impegno

We will promote and disseminate specific actions for this initiative over the next three years, in order to reduce traffic accidents and their consequences among drivers and pedestrians.

  1. We will revise our training units in order to strengthen the messages on the risks of driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs and psychotropic medicines, and driving with fatigue, drowsiness, etc., contrary to the belief that drivers are able to control and dominate these effects voluntarily, through perseverance, etc., or the simple fact of having driven previously in similar circumstances.

We intend to train some 2,000 drivers per year and continue training driving school teachers as the future trainers for the recovery of points lost following the entry into force of the points-based driving licence.

We will hold driving safety competitions entitled “the safest driver” in companies and public institutions. These will consist of day-long events comprising a series of activities through which it will be possible for drivers to put their skills and risk perception to the test.

  2. We will strengthen our current position faced with the lack of capacity and knowledge among some drivers and pedestrians to correctly assess risk, which is a cause of traffic conflicts and accidents. Prevensis, through its Human Factor training and awareness campaigns, will work to improve the profile that each individual has as a consequence of age, sex, cultural level, family environment and work environment, experience, background, etc. As with the previous action, we intend to train some 2,000 drivers per year, and continue to train driving school teachers as the future trainers for the recovery of points lost following the entry into force of the points-based driving licence

An annual risk perception study will be carried out in accordance with different segments of the population (age, profession, etc.).

  3. Through Human Factor and Preventative Driving (Defensive and Economic) training, it will strengthen the principle that each of us is responsible for our own safety and also that of all those around us. Some drivers demonstrate risk behaviour and drive their vehicles in the shelter of the anonymity and isolation that the inside of their vehicle or helmet gives them. The low probability of being “caught” by the authorities reinforces that risk behaviour. They do not take into account either the probability of an accident or possible consequences of their actions.

We will carry out an annual behavioural study of Spanish and Portuguese drivers through the Human Factor training programmes.

  4. We will direct all of the Prevensis training to improve attitudes, habits and behaviours of drivers in order to achieve safe driving. The objective is to complement the official obligatory training for driving licenses, which is based on knowing how to manoeuvre a vehicle and includes very little education in relation to attitudes, habits and safe behaviours among drivers.

We will carry out an annual study on Spanish drivers based on the application of preventative driving techniques (vision, anticipation, space and control).

  5. Among our employees, colleagues and students, we will promote the achievement of a balance between professional and personal life, as well as disseminate control measures and the elimination of stress in order to achieve the responsible use of vehicles and help to reduce road rage.

In order to do this, we will promote the continued working day so that working and family life can be compatible; we will promote team sporting activities and develop educational road safety games for families.
