Mutual Flequera de Catalunya is a Catalan insurance company with 90 employees. It is based in Barcelona, and was initially linked to the Catalan bakers’ unions; it is currently involved in the marketing of general insurance policies (not life policies) in the automobile, accident, home, trade, community, SME, civil responsibility and health fields (private clients). It operates throughout Spain, and has its own affiliates in the four Catalan provinces.

Mutual Flequera de Catalunya commits to undertake the following actions in order to improve road safety:

1. Over the next three years, together with the Mossos d' Escuadra (Catalan police force), we will organise specific training courses in key road safety elements and regulations. These courses will be given to the company staff (approximately 100 people), so that they understand the importance of the initiative and pass on the message to others. This will be carried out by the Organisation Department of MFC.
2. Over the next three years, together with the Mossos d' Escuadra, we will give specific training courses in key road safety elements and regulations to the employees working in the commercial network of mediators who work with the company (some 500 people), so that they understand the importance of the initiative and pass on the message to others. This will be carried out by the Organisation Department of MFC.
3. As of 2007, we will include summaries of the basic aspects of the law on road safety and statistical objective data on accident rates in the automobile insurance policy documentation. Potential recipients of such information include 50,000 new clients every year. This will be carried out by the Organisation, Automobile, Production and Actuarial Departments.
