Germany | Enterprise
The Deutsche Interessensgemeinschaft für Unfallopfer Dignitas is an organisation present throughout Germany that assists traffic accident victims. It is funded by donations and receives no financial support from the State. Its main activity is to provide post-accident assistance and support, as well as information on the consequences of each accident and how to prevent or deal with them.
Impegno
Due to the lack of information on traffic accident victims at driving schools, Dignitas will publish a brochure by the title of “Respekt ist Sicherheit” (Respect is Safety), with images and reports by young traffic accident victims. These brochures will be distributed at driving schools throughout Germany.
Drinking and driving is a persistent cause of accidents. An increased awareness with regard to careful behaviour in road traffic and improved information are necessary. Dignitas will post information material on road safety on its website and publish brochures on this topic, namely, a total of 14,000 copies, which will be distributed to all German institutions.
By organising an annual memorial mass for the victims of traffic accidents in accordance with European memorial services, we not only raise awareness of the fact that innocent people die in traffic accidents or are so severely injured that they must struggle with a disability for the rest of their lives, but we also show that using the road can also be deadly, and we therefore also encourage people to drive more carefully and be more conscientious on the road.
