The Codan Group is Scandinavia's third largest insurance company with the flagships Codan in Denmark and Trygg-Hansa in Sweden. Road Safety in your Company (TIV)

Codan is a partner in collaboration on road safety certification. The certification is a concept developed by

Danish Transport and Logistics Association (DTL) and is offered to companies and fleet owners, who want to make an active effort to secure the future of their business and to reduce damage to persons, goods and vehicles. The certification consists in the companies introducing a road safety policy and establishing and complying with an action plan detailing objectives for 12 months, which may subsequently be renewed. Codan pays full price for the initial certification of each company, if its business insurance is held by Codan and they are members of DTL. Furthermore, the road safety certified company is then granted a 10% discount on car insurances in Codan (liability, hull and carrier's liability).

Through the TIV initiative, Codan Insurance helps ensure that many more companies will develop a road safety plan and even a good incentive for doing so.

Over the coming years, Codan wishes to further develop its involvement in this initiative.

 

6 Drivers Advices

In collaboration with DTL and Falck, Codan is part of the campaign "safety through dialogue" which has resulted in the development of a series of driving behaviour suggestions for professional freight drivers.

Businesses are encouraged to agree on a series of driving advices and to introduce these in the company to promote good traffic behaviour in the interests of road safety, community, cost and image. Codan participates in this and other road safety promoting campaign initiatives and provides information about these via web interface and press releases.

 

Over the next three years, Codan will furthermore go through its own action plans, training elements and information in all traffic safety related areas, in order to improve dialogue with customers, employees and partners. Subsequently, the company will focus on the particular efforts that seem to give maximum effect in terms of minimizing the number of traffic accidents.
