EAC European Automobile Clubs

As European umbrella association, the European Automobile Club (EAC) combines 5 smaller national automobile clubs. Together its members represent 2 point 5 million people. Our concerns are the harmonisation of traffic laws between the EU Member States and driving forward innovative technologies to ensure greater safety and sustainability on the roads.

Impegno

By signing the European Road Safety Charter, the EAC commits to the following:

We will support and promote national road safety campaigns by our member associations. For 2010 for example, the EAC is planning an event at the European Parliament promoting harmonised rules on safety vests throughout the EU. At our national and international events, we will provide latest information on road safety and disseminate printed material (the number has not been determined yet). We will also collaborate with representatives from associations, public entities, corporations and NGOs.

The European umbrella association will support all efforts on national road safety programs of our member associations. For example, some of our members are very active in terms of children's road safety, and we are going to give them the most of our support.

We will publish and keep up-to date road safety information on our website. We will encourage our members to do so as well.
