SLOVNAFT, Inc. headquartered in Slovakia's capital Bratislava, is an oil refining and petrochemical company processing 5.5 - 6 million tons of crude oil annually. The company's core business is the production, warehousing, distribution, wholesale and retail of oil products. Since 2000, SLOVNAFT has been a member of the multinational MOL Group.

1. Defensive Driving Training - provided for SLOVNAFT TRANS (subsidiary - core business is road transportation) employees.

 We will arrange defensive driving training for those employees whose work requires regular driving. All participants take part in a theoretical course based on the Safe Drive Training syllabus, and then participate in a monthly distance learning program to keep their newly-acquired knowledge fresh. Participants also attend practical training sessions, completed with personal evaluations. Courses are designed to train drivers for incident prevention techniques while promoting an attitude of mutual understanding and cooperation on the road. 100 drivers will participate.

 

2. Road Safety Policy - SLOVNAFT, a.s. as a part of MOL Group has its own Road Safety Policy

·Road Accident Rate (number of road accidents per million driven km) is one of the HSE (Health, Security, Environment) department measurements which is monitored and its improvement (decreasing) is annually planned.

·Internal regulation - MOL Group has a regulation called Safety Golden Rules which contains also rules for road safety, and there are specifications and minimum requirements for the vehicles (airbags, ABS, restrictions of mobile phone using, etc). In year 2011 a local level regulation is planned to be issued.

 

3. Influence on society

Direct way

·Our company newspaper - Panoráma will publish road safety alerts, seasonal driving safety tips and other articles in connection with road safety for SLOVNAFT employees.

·In B2C magazine distributed on our fuelling stations "Štýl a elán" we will publish serial of articles about practical advices for safety driving "5 advices for safety driving". In 2011 we will publish 12 articles. Monthly is published 50,000 copies in Slovakian and 6,000 copies in Hungarian.

·Partnership project with editorial house focused on draw attention of students on road safety via workbooks with this theme distributed to selected schools twice a year. Number of workbooks: approximately 10,000.

 

Indirect way

·SLOVNAFT promotes economical, safe and eco-friendly driving habits, to help drivers reducing their fuel consumption via supporting the media projects focused on this issue.
