The National Society for Road Safety is an NGO umbrella association for road safety organisations. It is made up of 23 regional offices, and has a total of 100 employees. There are 74 member organisations on a national level and more than 1,000 on a local level. The headquarters are in Stockholm/Solna, at which there are 22 employees.
Verbintenis
For three years, we will increase our concept of vision zero in the following way:
We will support the management of 100 to 200 transport companies, decision-makers in local governments and leaderships of organisations on a national, regional and local level in their road safety work.
Every NTF regional organisation will visit the selected management three to five times per year providing support through education, best practice solutions, templates for road safety policies, suggestions for improvement, etc., concerning, for example:
As we consider all these aspects fundamental to safe driving, we will dedicate 100,000 hours to road safety (the above described and other actions) per year.
We will support the management of 100 to 200 transport companies, decision-makers in local governments and leaderships of organisations on a national, regional and local level in their road safety work.
Every NTF regional organisation will visit the selected management three to five times per year providing support through education, best practice solutions, templates for road safety policies, suggestions for improvement, etc., concerning, for example:
- Speed adjustment and use of ISA-systems
- (monitoring of driving speed with laser or radar equipment)
- Working hours, tiredness, stress and time schedules
- Seatbelt use and use of seatbelt reminders
- Alcohol use and introduction of alcohol locks
As we consider all these aspects fundamental to safe driving, we will dedicate 100,000 hours to road safety (the above described and other actions) per year.
