Lleida Provincial Council and its Agencies, in order to achieve the highest levels of Occupational Safety and Health and to reduce the number of work incidents and accidents in traffic, undertakes to:

• Promote awareness and educate on the prevention of traffic accidents and their consequences, should they occur; all this will be done by organizing campaigns, awareness-raising talks, specific courses etc. on Road Safety aimed at workers of the Corporation and of the local bodies and authorities related to the Lleida Provincial Council (addressed to about 2900 persons).
- Organize awareness-raising talks on Road Safety aimed at all workers, and provide onsite/ online training on Road Safety and prevention measures for them.
- Organize awareness lectures and workshops in Road Safety aimed at the 99 pupils of the Special Education School of the Lleida Provincial Council.
- Organize specific courses on Road Safety for the workers who drive official and service vehicles. A training course of at least two hours will be scheduled, to be carried out at least twice a year.
- Organize specific courses on Road Safety for the representatives, President, counsellors and sensitive positions and workers of the Political Groups. A training course of at least two hours will be scheduled, to be carried out at least twice a year.

• Develop and disseminate information on Road Safety, safe and responsible driving, pedestrians’ attitude regarding safety, prevention of commuting accidents etc. among the workers of the Corporation and Local Bodies and Authorities related to the Lleida Provincial Council.

• Monitor the road behaviour of workers who drive official or service vehicles, through meetings in order to ensure that the training results are optimal.

• Investigate all traffic work accidents (when commuting and on an assignment) of the workers of the Lleida Provincial Council and its Bodies in order to analyze the causes and determine corrective and/or preventive measures, if applicable.

• Investigate all traffic fines of the official and service vehicles of the Lleida Provincial Council and its Bodies in order to analyze the causes and determine corrective and/ or preventive measures, if applicable.

• Create a specific section on our website and on the intranet of the Corporation to collect information on Road Safety. This section will include information about the European Road Safety Charter, a link to the website of the European Road Safety Charter, actions performed in relation to this subject in the Corporation, information on the subject disclosed to the workers, information about the talks and courses carried out on Road Safety etc.

• Develop and implement the Mobility and Road Safety Plan of the Lleida Provincial Council and its Bodies, including training on Road Safety.

• Appoint a manager for the implementation of the Mobility Plan and provide him with the appropriate training.

• Disseminate the Mobility and Road Safety Plan to all workers.

• Disclose to the local media information about the European Road Safety Charter and the Mobility and Road Safety Plan of the Corporation.

• Encourage the creation and dissemination of corrective and improvement proposals related to Road Safety, which contribute to the development of safe driving habits and to improving the safety conditions of vehicles.

• Optimize and organize transfers of all the Corporation Departments and Services in order to help reduce work traffic accidents (when commuting and on a mission) and maintain compliance with the legal regulations in force.

• Complete and implement technologies that help reduce the consequences of traffic accidents in official and service vehicles.

• Maintain official and service vehicles in good safety, performance and service conditions.

• Carry out the preventive maintenance of the facilities and infrastructures of the Lleida Provincial Council to minimize the risk of traffic accidents and their severity.

• Make sure that effective and quality medical care and legal assistance are provided for the potential victims of work traffic accidents.

• Accept a further review, in accordance with the appropriate confidentiality rules, of the measures taken to improve road safety and, if necessary, revise these measures.
