In this year edition of "Spirit of Burgas" for the first time a proven good European practice in organizing major festivals will be introduced: the prevention of risky behavior. When young people party, they tend to underestimate the risks of alcohol abuse or use of drugs, which can lead to fatal consequences.

From August 02 to 05, 2012 on the Cultural Center "Casino" terrace in the Burgas sea garden as part of the "Youth on the Move" volunteers of "Open Youth" will be explaining to those who want the effects of alcohol and drugs on human perception in an interesting and entertaining way – by using alco- and druggoggles. Thus, through personal experience of the participants, they will be able to make an informed choice about their and their peers’ behavior. Volunteers will be also distributing to drivers single use alcotests which show if the  level of alcohol in the body passed the legal limit of 0.5 ppm.

The "Open Youth" initiative is in the framework of  the international project AVENUE, supported by DG "Mobility and Transport" of the European Commission, and is part of the overall program "Drive responsibly" of the organization.
