Compromisso
We will continue our “Safe Driving Championship” in the following manner:
- Through the Internet, we will involve approximately 220,000 children in interactive videogames allowing users to learn techniques for handling dangerous situations on the road.
- We will carry out a training campaign at higher education institutions and Italian universities (32 institutes and 7,000 students involved).
Training for young people will include theoretical lectures given by instructors from the Centro Internazionale Guida Sicura (International Safe Driving Centre) on the topic of Road Safety and the principles of Safe Driving. The presence on site of an ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) simulator will be useful for involving and informing young people in a technically advanced manner about the efficiency of active safety systems as applied to modern-day vehicles. During the meetings, students will be encouraged to participate in the Safe Driving Championship, an international event promoted by the Centro internazionale di Guida Sicura di Andrea De Adamich (Andrea de Adamich Safe Driving Centre) under the auspices of the Italian Ministry of Transport and targeting new driving license holders between 18 and 25 years of age. - Following the above training and awareness-raising campaigns at universities, some 22,000 participants between the ages of 18 and 25 having recently obtained their driving licenses will be selected. Regional selections will be followed by the national finals at the Centro internazionale di Guida Sicura di Andrea de Adamich (in Parma), where participants will have to demonstrate their knowledge of road safety concepts and their skill in applying safe driving techniques.
The three best drivers will win a car.
Megan Gale will provide support in conveying the safety message.
