Trade association that is a member of CONFINDUSTRIA and one of the constituent organisations of FEDERTRASPORTO.  It defends the interests of and represents the transport sector, constantly seeking to encourage the authorities to issue new decrees and regulations.  It brings together around 3,000 goods transport companies throughout Italy, and has a total of approximately 60,000 members

ANITA intends to consolidate the mission undertaken in 2006 to contribute to improving road safety by committing to carry out the following actions over the next three years:

• In support of the European Road Safety Charter, our association will promote a significant road safety awareness campaign among its members (approximately 3,000 companies), providing information on all new legislation of interest to goods transport companies (e.g. the Highway Code, driving and rest times for drivers, no traffic access for heavy goods vehicles, etc.) through circulars and communications that we will publish on our website (www.anita.it).
• At the monthly meetings of the management bodies of the association, either on a restricted level (Executive Committee) or a broader level (National Council), we will deal with road safety among other issues.
• On the occasion of our annual assembly, we will deal with the issue of road transport safety in a comprehensive manner, involving experts from the world of politics and administration, as well as consultants in the sector.
• At expert meetings with the government, we will support greater police control, improved infrastructure and appropriate regulations for the transport of specific goods (e.g. dangerous goods, food products, exceptional goods, combined goods, containers, hydraulic binding agents and waste) to improve the road transport sector.
• On a more restricted level, we will implement road safety training courses through our company, ANITA SERVIZI Srl.  Classes will be given by qualified teachers and the issues dealt with will be linked to new national and community legal provisions.
