The association promotes cooperation between road safety professionals and health professionals to share know-how and experiences, to be able cooperate with the other agents, like business organizations, unions and administrations, to sensibilize the working population to the road and health risks that are part of working life.

The “Asociación de Especialistas en Prevención y Salud Laboral (AEPSAL)” will contribute to improving certain areas of road safety by undertaking the following actions:

1. A manual, drawn up by employees of the association, aimed at those employees who drive vehicles. The association aims to distribute a total of 3,000 manuals to any entity that has employees who drive vehicles.
2. A study on the relationship between Sleep Apnoea Hypopnoea Syndrome (SAHS) and professional driver accident rates (2005 to 2006), in which internal and external employees will participate, and which will be published in book form and in technical and scientific journals.
3. A programme of courses on safety and health in the workplace, aimed at employees who drive vehicles (2006 to 2007), with subsequent assessment. The courses will take place over 30 hours in four companies every quarter, and the aim is to reach some 600 employees in the courier and food home delivery sector.
