We maintain our support to Responsible Young Drivers through sponsorship.

We will continue our programme of defensive driving courses for young drivers.
Ethias offers young people between the ages of 18 and 26 the possibility of attending a driving course lasting half a day at a driving school that is a member of the Belgian Federation of Advanced Driving Institutes (FEBIC). In all cases, Ethias contributes 50 euros to the cost of the course. Upon successful completion of the course there will be a price reduction for the yound person on his insurance premium. In three years, from 2001 to 2003, of the 9,096 courses held, there have been 8,641 successes and 455 failures.

Within the framework of alternative penalies for driving offences, we will continue our collaboration with the Belgian Road Safety Institute about the awareness courses directed to road delinquents. We focus our intervention on the contract of liability insurance in all its facets, including non-insurance, and also address the compensation of victims, both for material damage and for the injury.
The aim of these courses is to reduce the risks of repeat offences and give the participants an overview of the various risks inherent to road use. One of the topics dealt with concerns automobile insurance. This training (30 hour/year) ends up with very constructive dialogues.
