Compromisso
Systematic separation of traffic at particularly sensitive points of the city road network raises the overall level of safety. That is why we renew our commitment to the European Road Safety charter with activities consisting in the separation of road traffic according to type and direction, that will be carried out by means of building safety fence and protection barriers in the trouble spots of the road network.
The planned locations in 2009 are:
- Kosciuszki Street (a 50-metre long fence to divide the tram line from the road);
- Na Zjezdzie Street (a 194-metre long fence to divide the tram line from the road);
- Armii Krajowej Street (a 170-metre long resilient barrier to divide traffic directions).
Plans for the year 2010 include building a cement protection barrier of about 280 metres in length to divide traffic directions on Nowohucka Street.
The activities for the two following years will be defined following evaluation.
