“Good Vision” Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees Good Vision eV (KGS) was founded in 1949 as a community, is one of the first German awareness initiatives in the health sector. The core objective is to raise awareness of population about the importance of good vision for safety in all life situations as well as for high quality of life. Therefore KGS focuses on a continuous media communication and nationwide campaigns. The association currently has four employees.
Compromisso
We carry out a poster campaign in the major German cities, together with the Automobile Club of Germany (AvD). This campaign highlights the importance of regular eyesight checks for more road safety and appeals to population to do regular eyesight checks every two years. The striking eye motif with an expired vehicle test certificate reminds the viewer of the contradiction of proving car safety every two years and forgetting to examine their own visual acuity. We plan to further develop this campaign in the coming three years. The KGS has won two strong partners: Technical Inspection Authority TÜV eV and the Southwest German Association of Opticians (SWAV). Apart from large posters and media reports, we have also started using fuel nozzles as an advertising medium for the campaign. We have placed our campaign message at nationwide 400 petrol stations. In the coming years we plan to amplify it. We have created an integrated Website www.sehcheck.de, where more than 2,200 opticians have registered as visual check-registered partners. These opticians offer free eyesight checks. In order to give more visibility to the action we plan to acquire more active partnerships from the field of insurance and media.
