In Belgium, the UPTR represents, as a national officially recognised professional union, the interests of transport and logistics companies before third parties.

The UPTR aims primarily to protect and develop economic interests in the sector, as well as to defend its members.

In addition to its lobbying and information mission, the UPTR offers a complete range of services (specialised social bureau, legal service, recovery of excise duties and VAT, motorway tolls, etc.).

The UPTR undertakes to promote all useful initiatives contributing to the improvement of road safety.

 

Over the next three years, the UPTR will work to further develop the promotion of courses in the framework of European regulations on ongoing training for road drivers.

 

More specifically, the UPTR will inform companies about the importance for drivers of certain course modules (preventative driving, defensive driving, controlling emergency situations through the acquisition of good reflexes, stress management, the positive impact of healthy nutrition on concentration when driving and the proper fastening of goods on vehicles) by way of the following:

- Publishing and updating information on its website.

- Sending faxes and e-mails.

Monthly faxes and e-mails containing specific information on ongoing training for road drivers are sent to up to 4,000 addresses.

- Publishing information in its magazine.

The UPTR magazine is sent annually to 17,500 recipients.
