The Hellenic Motorcyclists club (LEMOT) offers the opportunity for motorcyclists to express their views and opinion regarding Motorcycle related issues in the country. The association also organizes various activities in which members are encouraged to participate. The Hellenic Motorcyclists club was founded in 1979.
Compromisso
The Hellenic Motorcyclists club Lemot commits to the European Road Safety Charter for the next three years with the following actions:
1. We will participate in a project on moto road safety of the Polytechnic school of Athens. The project will be carried out by students of the transports department and we will provide data and research that will help them carry out further analysis on the issue.
2. We will include on our website material such as photos, videos and articles related to road safety. More specifically as we are a motorcyclist association on issues such as helmets and safe driving of scooters and motorcycles.
3. We will maintain blogs on our website where users of the site can comment and post their opinions on issues related to motorcycle driving in Greece. Often these issues are regarding the safe driving of the motorcycle, new legislations and events that are taking place. Encouraging discussions raises awareness.
4. We will participate in educational programmes in collaboration with local secondary schools. So far we have participated in high schools in the Athens area. Namely Paleo Faliro which was carried out in two phases and Neas Smirnis. These programmes involve delivering road safety education to the children in the form of a lecture.
