road safety in action

Self-assessment tool

The aim of the self-assessment tool is certainly not to make a ranking amongst the ERSCharter members; it has been created in order to help members to improve their commitment and actions for safer roads. Therefore, the results of your evaluation will not be published online, they will only advise you.

How to use the self-assessment tool?

  1. Download and open the excel file
  2. Fill in your contact details on the first sheet
  3. The second sheet evaluates the process of your road safety commitment through a series of questions. For each step, you should mark your realization level by selecting the corresponding box. Be sure you have selected an ‘accomplished level’ for every step before proceeding to the next sheet. Only one box per step can be selected. If some boxes are turning red, please deselect the inappropriate box. For each step, feel free to write additional information or comments in the ‘comment’ field.
  4. The third sheet concerns the ‘summative evaluation’ or the relevance of your road safety commitment. For each statement, you should mark your ‘agreement level’ by selecting the corresponding box. Only one box per statement can be selected. If some boxes are turning red, please deselect the inappropriate box. For each statement, feel free to write additional information or comments in the ‘comment’ field.
  5. Once you have completed the two evaluation sheets, you can see your results on the ‘results’ sheet.
  6. Save the excel-file and send it to charter@vias.be.
