Commitment
In the period between 2008 and 2010 we will strengthen our activities to improve road safety with various measures focusing on the following topics:
- The obligatory use of driver's safety belt.
In this respect we will distribute leaflets to all our 210 professional drivers about the mandatory use of the driver’s safety belt. There will also be permanent warnings and activities such as regular staff meetings, articles published in an internal magazine where we will enforce the use of the safety belt as an obligation in real life. - Marking new vehicles with orange reflective label on the rear frame.
All our new vehicles (trucks and trailers) will be marked with an orange reflective label on the rear frame of the vehicle to make them more visible at night or in fog. - Supplementary education for drivers on safe driving.
We will provide an extra 10 hours’ education per year for our 210 drivers and staff on safe driving. The education process will be held by our own teachers from company management and staff as well as teachers from the police, Slovenia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, governmental institutions and others. - To make sure our professional drivers are well aware of any danger or accidents while driving the whole fleet of our trucks will be re-equipped with modern navigation - communication devices in their cabs. The new navigation-communication systems will have an audio option so drivers concentrate on the road at all times while driving.
The old equipment will be removed from vehicles and replaced with the new navigation and communication systems. Having all our trucks equipped with the same navigation and communication systems will afford our drivers updated information on possible road barriers, roads to be avoided in case of accidents as well as providing them with the possibility of making emergency calls. - Systematic analysis of traffic accidents in our fleet
All traffic accidents with injured persons or with a damaged vehicle in our fleet will receive our utmost attention in the next three years and we will then perform a serious analysis together with our staff. The aim of this activity will be to investigate the causes of the accidents in order to prevent repetition of such events. Results of in-depth analyses will become part of the education of our drivers in recognising principal traffic risks and how to avoid accidents even when caused by a third party.
