Liikennepoliittinen yhdistys Enemmistö ry is a non-profit association for urban traffic policies. The association promotes efficient public transport and improved conditions for pedestrians and cyclists. There are 300 members. Liikennepoliittinen yhdistys Enemmistö ry is board member of Liikenneturva (Central Organisation for Traffic safety in Finland).

Commitment

We are continuing our participation in the European Road Safety Charter during 2010-2013 with the following actions:

1. We will focus on updating our online newspaper (http://www.enemmisto.kaapeli.fi/etusi/Lehti2006_2.htm) at least once a week and to publish regularly articles about road safety. We will focus in particular in safe and efficient public transport and in promotion of pedestrians and cyclists safety conditions.

2. We will publish traffic safety related stories in our blog once a month. Blog can be found on page http://enemmistory.blogspot.com/ and it has approximately 2,500 readers per month. The blog addresses especially pedestrian safety. We believe the laws require clarification and the attitudes must be changed.

3. We encourage our members to take part in road safety in public discussions (e.g. newspaper). In our view, there is a lot of information about road safety available, but attitudes are still to be improved. We feel that our 40 years old organization has a weighty word in various discussions, and that we can influence people's attitudes and behaviour of traffic.
