Group of companies operating in the road transport sector, transporting fuel by tanker for the leading oil companies in three European countries: Italy, France and Spain. With a fleet of 700 tankers, the SBG Group has a workforce of around 800.
Over the coming three years we will launch an information and training programme based on the following activities:
Every month, we will include material about road safety, on A4 paper or brochure form, in all our employees’ pay packets. The message contained in these publications will also be repeated at:
15 annual seminars on the theme of road safety, involving all our employees (whether drivers or not).
We will provide our employees with full information about types of accident, investigation processes to ascertain their cause and the measures required to prevent accidents.
These periodical meetings will bring together around 50 people each. Both external collaborators (consultants, engineers specialising in hazardous goods transport, doctors, traffic police officers) and in-house management (personnel manager, technical director, commercial director, security manager) will take part.
The support material will take the form of slide projections, which will also be distributed to each participant.
20 meetings every year, aimed at our drivers, involving smaller groups (around 30 people each) as the subjects will be dealt with in greater depth. These subjects will include studies of the frequency, type, risk and causes of accidents, as well as the action necessary to prevent accidents and how to provide assistance.
We will organise refresher courses for drivers aimed at preventing accidents, ensuring that safety and Highway Code rules are followed correctly, with each driver attending two courses per year. The first will comprise four hours of theory and four hours of practice and will be devoted to safe and defensive driving, the second will take the same format and will focus on the inflammable nature of the product we handle.
