GODA
Denmark | Association
GODA is funded by the Wine and Distiller´ Organization in Denmark and the Danish Distillers´ Association. The purpose of the association is to promote a sensible alcohol culture with a view to discouraging and preventing cases of abuse. GODA employs one person and a student.
Commitment
1. GODA believes it is essential to include road safety training in the curriculum already in primary and secondary school. Therefore, the association's educational material "Alcohol Dialogue" contains several sections focusing on respectively moped and car accidents and the consumption of alcohol. Denmark has approx. 1500 schools (primary and secondary school in one joint educational program) and since August 2008, GODAs teaching material has been requisitioned in approx. 1900 copies. Over the coming years, the Association will further strengthen the educational elements in terms of influencing conceptions, behaviour and understanding of the consequences of drunken driving by reaching many more schools and further develop this effort in relation to content and possible partnerships.
2. GODA will put up a driving simulator at Denmark's largest music festival "Roskilde Festival". The target audience is primarily young festival participants and in the simulator they can physically experience the impact and consequences of drinking and driving.
3. GODA's video "The Experiment" (Experimentet) is now mandatory as part of the official Alcohol and Traffic Courses, targeting drunk drivers whose license has been deprived, according to the National Police guide tutorial.
4. GODA has developed the websites: http://1421.dk/ and http://www.alkoholdialog.dk, targeting respectively adults and schools (teachers and students). Among other topics, these sites address facts about drunken driving and provide opportunities for dialogue on these topics. Over the next few years GODA will further develop these initiatives and continuously improve the focus on road safety at these platforms.
