Latina city Council (Lazio region) represents Local Community in respect of Constitution, Statal and regional Laws, Rules and principles stated by their own Statute.

The Latina City Council action plan is aimed mainly at improving user behaviour and attaining improved infrastructure safety.The aim is to meet these objectives:

1. By means of an awareness campaign for kindergarten, primary and secondary school children in Latina (including the Rodari and L. da Vinci schools, approximately 1000 students in total) with road education courses that will run from September 2005 until the end of 2007. Whilst these courses are under way and upon their completion, monitoring work will be carried out with a view to continuing the programme in the future.
   
2. Through the creation of a forum database on road safety in order to facilitate the exchange of ideas among all citizens, running from 2005 to 2007. The Province of Latina and the Prefecture are to collaborate.
   
3. With regard to the improvement of infrastructures, we propose, based on the results of our analyses and in collaboration with the Latina traffic police and police force, to intervene specifically – through a work of planning and construction – to modify some ten dangerous crossroads in Latina, in order to improve road safety (at the start, the Latina City Council intended to finance works for only two crossroads; now, motivated by the Charter, some ten crossroads will be modified).
   
   This programme will be developed between 2005 and 2007, and whilst the works are under way and upon their completion, monitoring work will be carried out with a view to continuing the programme in the future.
