World Rally Team, Ireland

Ireland | Association

World Rally Team Ireland was created by Sligo businessman Tommy Mullen in order to provide an Irish presence on the World Rally Championship. The intention is to develop an Irish Team and an Irish Driver to eventually enable participation on the highest level of this most prestigious international competition.

Commitment

Road death is one of the largest killers in Ireland of young males and we feel as an organisation we must play our part in lower these fatality rates. World Rally Team Ireland is the leading National team and we have responsibility to society to do whatever we can to promote safer driving habits among young males.

We are therefore committing to an educative programme as follows:

In partnership with Gulf Oil, we are using Shaun Gallagher, World Rally Championship driver to show young males the difference between rally cars and normal road going cars in a bid to get them to understand the limitations of normal cars and thus in turn get them to reduce their speed on the Irish roads.
The point of the DVD is to show that normal cars cannot perform the same as rally cars.

We are structuring the campaign that every student (post primary 11-16 years old) who watches the DVD and returns the relevant accompanying material to us will be entered in a draw to win a prize for themselves and the school.

Material produced for the campaign will be:
20,000 DVD's
250,000 Promotional Flyers
