Our concern is the safety of children in traffic and especially their risk of accident with right turning vehicles. We will therefore participate in the European Road Safety Charter in 2010-2013 by organising road safety theme days at schools.
The children of age 7-9 years old will first go through road safety matters with their teachers before our visit.
We will hand out some material / information for the use of teachers if necessary.
Our visits consist of road safety presentation where we teach children how to act in traffic with big vehicles like trucks. After the theory part we will invite the children to get into a truck to be able to see the view from a big vehicle and to become aware of the blind spots. We will show the difference of visibility of a person using a reflective vest in comparison to one who is not using vest.
We will also bring an old bike with us and ran over it with the truck. This has a great effect on children. After the demonstration we will hand out reflective vests to all children.
We will visit schools on request and teach small groups at once. There will be approximately 100 children participating the theme days every year.
