For several years now, ALIMER (Alimentos del Mediterráneo s.coop.)has been maintaining a commitment to road safety and therefore wishes to subscribe for the next 3 years to the provisions of the European Charter for Road Safety, undertaking to meet the objectives derived from it.

Thus, a series of actions will be carried out, which are meant to enhance staff awareness on the risks arising from using means of transport. Based on this, how the journeys are made, the type of vehicles used, data on labour accidents, access roads to different work sites and routes used for the performance of the activity will be analyzed, always with the objective of streamlining transport and making travel safer.

Information will be strengthened by the use of leaflets (about 2000) which will be distributed to all workers, as well as to future ones, and which will be developed by the Prevention Service of the company and which will address, among other issues, such aspects as the proper maintenance of vehicles, the selection of alternative routes, the use of public transportation, energy saving etc.)

We will also use posters (about 50) which we will place in all the company work sites, as well as inside company vehicles to be renewed annually.

One week will be devoted to raising awareness on road safety with the support of the civil guard body, of insurance companies, of traffic victim associations etc., which will show the consequences of not following safety rules and of not performing proper maintenance of the vehicle.

All these measures are included in the Mobility and Road Safety Plan of ALIMER.
